This bungalow was built on the edge of a quarry site: the considerations above ground were fairly simple – extend a gable with chimney west to allow a sheltered sitting area and provide big views from inside. The foundations were more difficult: fortunately we were able to find bedrock and avoid the expense of raft construction.
